Wine Tasting Tour in Turkey
Unpacking the Antalya Box of Impressions
An evening in Antalya can be remembered for its spectacular sunset over the sea, the lively hum of colorful bazaars, and the calls of the muezzins. But it can also be about the fruity notes of Bornova Muscat, the cozy ambiance of Casa Sur’s garden, and the stories behind each glass — stories that reveal a whole new side of Turkey: artisanal and oenogastronomic¹. Sounds like something fresh and intriguing, doesn’t it? Curious for details? Of course you are — and we’re ready to deliver!
We’re uncorking — or rather, unveiling — our Box of Impressions and inviting you to explore Turkish wine culture with us.
What Is the Wine Tasting Tour in Antalya with Join UP!?
Although Turkey is a predominantly Muslim country, its winemaking tradition goes back over 6,000 years, rooted in the times of the Hittites, Lycians, and Phrygians. An intriguing start, right? And here are a few more surprising facts:
- Turkey ranks among the top five countries in the world by vineyard area³ — although only a small portion of the grape harvest is used for winemaking, with most of it going toward table grapes and raisins.
- The country is home to over 800 indigenous² grape varieties, and wine is made from more than 30 of them. Some of the best-known include Kalecik Karası, Boğazkere, and Narince. But there are also ultra-rare ones, like Patkara, grown in a single vineyard on the mountain slopes above Mersin. (If you ever come across wine made from it — consider it a true treasure.)
- Turkish wines regularly win awards at international competitions, yet remain relatively unknown on the global stage.
We decided it’s time to change that — and added a wine tasting experience to our Box of Impressions, so you can discover a new facet of Turkey and feel just a little more special. After all, how many of your friends have ever tasted Turkish wine?

WINE LOCATION — CASA SUR
Imagine a cozy dinner in a botanical garden, surrounded by thousand-year-old stone walls, the warm glow of string lights, and stylish boho-inspired décor. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Casa Sur! It’s a boutique hotel with just a few rooms — and here are some more things you should know about it:
- The hotel is located just behind the ancient walls of the Old Town of Kaleiçi.
- The building once housed the residence and gallery of renowned Turkish artist Muhittin Selamet, which explains the strong aesthetic and creative vibe that fills every corner.
- Part of the courtyard is a botanical garden with mandarin, orange, and even banana plants. Their fruits are used in dishes and drinks at the on-site restaurant.
The atmosphere is already impressive — and you haven’t even seen the wine list yet. Oh yes, it’s full of stars!
