Join UP!™ Continues to Operate Tourism Program in Egypt
At this time, the Join UP!™ tourism program continues to operate without changes across all active markets. The safety and well-being of our travelers is our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East, assessing its potential impact on travel safety in Egypt, and adhering to guidance from official authorities.
At present, the situation in Egypt remains stable. There are no threats to the safety of tourists in resort areas, particularly in Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and El Alamein.
Our partners in Egypt confirm that all resorts are operating normally, and that current events in the region have had no impact on the resorts or their surroundings at present.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Romania did not issue any travel warnings regarding Egypt at present. The main recommendation regarding some regions of Egypt for Romanian citizens is to avoid traveling to the northern area of the Sinai Peninsula, the western area located near the border with Libya and the border area with the Republic of Sudan. The resorts such as Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and El Alamein are safe to visit.
Aviation safety remains a fundamental priority. Join UP!™'s aviation partner, SkyUp™, is monitoring the situation 24/7 and taking all necessary measures to ensure the security of all passengers. The team is continuously evaluating operational information — including NOTAMs, CZIB bulletins, SAAS risk updates, and Eurocontrol data — and conducting internal risk assessments together with UK-based experts using the internationally recognized Osprey Flight Solutions system.
As of this statement, SkyUp™ continues to operate charter flights to Egypt. Some adjustments have been made to flight routes to and from Sharm El Sheikh Airport to minimize potential risks.
Additionally, on June 13, the Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a statement confirming that the country’s airspace remains safe and fully operational. Air traffic continues to function normally and in compliance with the highest international safety standards.
We encourage tourists to remain calm, rely only on official sources of information, and follow the recommendations of relevant authorities during their stay in Egypt.
