Hurghada ranked 3rd in the list of the best natural spots and received the “Travelers’ Choice” award from Tripadvisor. Such recognition is awarded to less than 1% of 8 million locations on the platform! So, why do travelers choose it so actively? Let’s find out!

40 km of coastline, wide strips of golden sand, a gentle entrance to the water, and a constant breeze. Hotels that resemble small towns: everything you need for a carefree vacation is inside. But what’s beyond their borders?

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS AND AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCES

Here, there are locations where the holiday mood kicks in from the first step.

Like, “I don’t want to decide anything, let the celebration continue”.

Palace of a Thousand and One Nights

an incredible entertainment complex styled like an Arabian fairy tale. Tourists come from all over to watch theatrical performances and, after dark, the Singing Fountains Show.

Sheraton

v a 3 km long promenade. The “Old Sheraton” stretches to Orange Beach — a quieter area perfect for endless photo sessions. Further on, towards Alarosa Square, the number of shops and cafes gradually increases.

Hurghada Marina Boulevard

a kilometer-long promenade designed by a French company.3 Over a hundred cafes and shops, mostly in an Arab-Moorish style, line up along the water. Music wafts from open terraces, and yachts gently sway nearby. Are we really in Egypt?

El-Mina

The largest mosque in Hurghada. You can see it from afar: two minarets, 40 meters high, with tiers of domes adorned with traditional oriental ornaments between them. Inside, you’ll be breathless from the richly decorated hall: grand chandeliers, walls with solemn engravings, and light streaming through numerous pointed windows.

El-Dahar and its labyrinth of trading rows

Authentic coffee houses where you can taste coffee with thick foam and cardamom, corners with jewelry, perfumes, and clothes, and open stalls with spices and fruits. In the shade, falafel is being fried, and leather goods are being crafted.

The old seaport of Hurghada

here, boats and yachts are being repaired: wood is manually processed, sheathed, and painted. Everywhere there is noise and fragments of conversations that started at dawn. If you’re lucky, you can see a restored ship being launched.

EXPERIENCES FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

It seems there is no “right age” to visit museums — it either interests you or “well, next time to the water park”. Hurghada will charm both explorers and fun-seekers!

  • The Hurghada Museum houses over 1,500 artifacts — most belong to the times of Ancient Egypt and the Greco-Roman period. It’s fascinating to see household items used back then — containers for cosmetics, mirrors, jugs, etc. — and remind yourself of the excellent amenities waiting in your hotel room.

  • Sand City, or The Sand Sculpture Museum in Hurghada – the first and only one in the Middle East and Africa. To create the exhibits, 11,000 cubic meters of sand and 4,000 tons of water were needed! And what figures are there: historical leaders, gods of pagan pantheons, movie and cartoon characters. Maybe the profile of Nefertiti won’t surprise everyone, but the gigantic sand Batman…

  • The Marine Biology Museum is a part of the research station that studies the underwater flora and fauna of the Red Sea and is open to visitors.

  • The Grand Aquarium — is one of the largest aquariums in the world. The entertainment complex has 24 galleries with glass tunnels and aquariums, including an ocean tank with a capacity of 1,800 m³ of water. There is also an open-air zoo, open pools, and food courts. Here you can see over 1,200 species of animals and get close to such predators as eagle rays, sand and tiger sharks, and blacktip reef sharks without fear. Certified divers can even swim with the sharks!

  • Titanic Waterpark located at the Titanic Resort & Aqua Park 4* and open to all visitors, is one of the largest in Hurghada. There are about 30 different water attractions. There are pools for kids and extreme water slides for teenagers, a wave pool, a rafting river, and an artificial wave for surfing.

UNTOUCHED GIFTUN ARCHIPELAGO

These islands are just a 45-minute boat ride from Hurghada. Above the surface, around the beaches with marble-white sand, flows turquoise water, and the shiny backs of playful dolphins can sometimes be seen. On the largest island, Giftun El-Kebir, particularly on Orange Bay and Paradise Island, you can take photos that rival glossy magazines. And underwater, the colors of the protected marine park are so vibrant.

  • Around Shaab Sabina the corals resemble a Japanese garden — growing one atop another, reaching down to 14 meters. Sunlight weaves intricate patterns on the sandy bottom, and schools of colorful reef fish float everywhere.
  • Near Small Giftun, Forster’s hawkfish freeze among the coral branches, watching for prey. At depths of 15-25 meters, rays, turtles, and moray eels find their zen in hiding spots, and at 40 meters down lies a mysterious, beautiful cave inhabited by lionfish and anthias — the “kings of the Red Sea”.
  • Abu Ramada — is a trendy spot among divers. Its northern side is called the “aquarium” due to the variety of fish, mollusks, and crustaceans. Have you ever seen scorpionfish hunting on the seabed?
